Friendship picture.

A picture that I drew for my very dear friend, who is lovely and excellent in every way, and who can drink way more beer in one sitting without appearing outrageously drunk than any person I have ever met. xxx

Kitty plushies!

Here is the next round of my kitty plushies, finished at last! They are currently immigrating to Edinburgh, where they will resettle at the beautiful Red Door Gallery, just in time to enjoy the festival. xxx

Seymour + Love Fran plushies

During a bit of a general computer spring (or first time in a long time) clean, I uncovered a folder photographed and saved on my behalf, yet again by the ever conscientious Seymour, with these guys knocking about in it. They are probably at the ripe old age (in plushie years) of about 6 now. They were my first collaboration with Seymour, made for his first ever solo show back in New Zealand. Together his illustrations+my 5 meters of baby corduroy=seymourlovesfran. It was such a nice suprise after such a long time of not seeing Kung Fu Kitty and his crew, that I wanted to share them with you. xxx

Gocco Girls

My set of Gocco girls are (finally) finished, I had to patiently wait for some more screens and bulbs to be delivered to be able to print the 3rd little lady. It's a nice process and something I'll be doing again for sure, but here are the photos of Gocco attempt number one. Time for a wine. xxx

Aztec Girl

Tuesday! Vege market day, spent the day alternately drawing and googling recipes that I could make with my haul (yip, haul) that I collected from the markets today, the result being the illustration above, and a really weird tasting salad. xxx

Kitty Plushies

Another crew of misfit, heart shaped nose kitty plushies. These guys were so much fun to make, not only cause of the moustaches, pirate patches, feather headdresses, and kitty waistcoats but it was also my first go on fabric pens, which are generally fab, plus also super good for sleazy eyes. xxx

Bunting.

Some bunting lines I made out of all the sweetest fabrics ever. The ABC bunting was a gift for my nephew Charlie when he was born, then there is a snap of one of the red ones hanging in the window of the Red Door Gallery, and Milo and Otis (yes, really their names, and yes really best friends, perfect) adding a bit of colour to their beach bar/playhouse with a blue one. xxx

Doodlers Anonymous

Doodlers Anonymous is a blog founded to celebrate the 3 creators addiction to scribbling, sketching, doodling, and drawing- and I love it heaps. As an off shoot from a drawing challenge they had a while back, they have created a tumblr called doodlebomb! where anyone can take an ad and doodle it up. It is an excellent extra something to do with your hands while watching a movie, stuck on/to the couch after a long day, or a productive exercise in procrastination, oh, and it is totally fun. Here are my ladies throwing snazzy patterns up on themselves. xxx

Plushies!

Plushies! More specifically speaking, animal plushies, no wild 360 in the general theme of things here. These enthusiastic looking (especially the moose huh?) little guys were a little Christmas/fell in love with the fabric print project that I sold in the beautiful Red Door Gallery a while back.  All I really want to add, is that when I get a cat, I wish for it to have a heart shaped nose and a twirl pencil mustache. The end. xxx

School of Hard Knocks.

A collection of school baggy goodness that I should have really posted earlier this year for when my gorgeous niece Charlee had her first day at school. I haven't seen her actual schoolbag yet, cause she lives on almost the other side of the planet from where I do, but I imagine her in one like on the top right in the picture, and it is probably all massive on her, and it is probably super cute. xxx

Kitty Cone...

Can't remember exactly who got this bad ass pile of kitties on the front of their birthday card,  my fave is still the confused gentlemanly looking fellow in the front, fur real. xxx

Mushroom Badges

Shrooms! Again, from a while back now, I loved this vintage mushroom fabric I found at the market, must have been curtains at a guess. The print was already a cool colourway, and with nice detail, so I didn't really have to do much leg work making it into these cute little badges. xxx

Guitar cushion

This is a cushion I made for my dad for his Birthday a few years back. He is a guitar teacher by profession, and an all round guitar enthusiast by personality, nobody ever really knows how many guitars he has at any given time, as he strategically stashes them in various places around his music room, and the house. I love that I grew up with guitars and music around, and that it is our common family ground, so as I usually gift him music (or whiskey) themed pressies I decided to mix it up with some of my sewy interests and put some of our fave sweet guitars on a hand stitched cushion.... xxx

Winter Wonderland

A winter themed welcome home card that I thought I would very quickly sneak in while it was still the season for it. Made for Peter, who, lucky for me is a compulsive scanner and photographer of anything and everything I make, which then gets delivered to me via usb pigeon in neat little folders every few months, a flawless system really. xxx

Prague

Last month for my birthday I went for a bit of a whirlwind few days away to Prague, I don't really know how to do the chilled out break away thing (mission for this summer), so, as usual, we pounded the pavement for hours on end, nourished by cake and cocktails in a can, but I did a wee journal page while there. Very comprehensive summary. Thought I would add a few pages from Cologne and New Zealand last year too. xxx

Mr Kitty + Dino

I wanted to start my very first post with these little guys, which I made a few fair years ago now, they were pretty much the first EVER things I made and sold, (except for maybe those acorn people that you made as children and sold on the street outside your house, when it was still safe-ish to do that sort of thing, sigh, the 80's), and so they have a special place in my heart reserved especially for odd looking plushy things. There was Mr Kitty and Dino, each equipped with a skull and crossbones badge, incase they gave the impression (being pink and mint) that they weren't tough as. xxx
